During Lottery registration, the MCM and Brooks will unveil the 2017 Motivational Line of apparel, exclusively for MCM participants while training for “The People’s Marathon.” Runners may select a DriLayer, moisture-wicking Short Sleeve Tee or cap while filling out the Lottery form. No charges will be incurred until the runner is officially entered into the MCM on Notification Day, March 30.
Purchasing a shirt during MCM registration isn’t just about obtaining a commemorative keepsake. The apparel item will announce a mission statement to everyone you run past that each training step brings you closer to the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial finish line. You aren’t just out for a run. You aren’t just training for an upcoming race. You are mission focused on completing the Marine Corps Marathon. The technical shirts are available in men’s and women’s sizes and offer different motivational messages.
Consider the “Must Do. Can Do. Will Do.” grey T-shirt or white cap that mirror the positive thoughts a runner experiences while prepping for the MCM, a ‘Must Do’ marathon on every runner’s bucket list. After dedicated training, runners will know that ‘Can Do’ it. Arriving at the start line in October adjacent to Arlington Cemetery and surrounded by hundreds of Marines, the inspiration is powerful. Runners ‘Will Do’ the MCM.
There’s the “Run with Purpose” black T that signifies your participation in the MCM may have a significance beyond just covering 26.2. Are you running for a cause? Remembering a loved one? Showing pride of country? Dedicating the pursuit to someone who has served? Reforming personal health practices? Pushing to new distances? Whatever the reason, your MCM effort has purpose.
The MCM is known as the ‘best marathon for beginners.’ Thousands of first-time marathoners register for the event each year. While training, proudly declare your new affiliation with the MCM. Whether it’s your first marathon overall or your first time at the MCM, the shirt signifies that this training effort has special significance.
From registration through completion, the MCM will be part of your daily thoughts. During Lottery, get the apparel to match your mission mindset.
