For the first time in five years, the Marine Corps Marathon will open Rush Registration, allowing runners to claim their spot before the Lottery process begins. Rush Registration is an online mad dash that affords runners instant access to entries without the uncertainty of the Lottery. The MCM will make 11,000 entries available through the Rush process.
The available entries will go fast! How fast? Rush Registration will be available beginning at 9 a.m. EDT for 25 minutes OR until 11,000 runners register. Make sure you are quick, as the countdown clock will stop once registration reaches 11,000.
Last month, all 3,100 spots for the Marine Corps 17.75K sold out in just over seven minutes. In 2013, the last time the MCM employed such a registration tactic for the marathon, runners broke the record for the fastest sellout in the history of marathon events when the entire field of entries was claimed in just two hours and 21 minutes.
During registration, runners may opt to purchase a ticket to the MCM’s pasta dinner, known as the Carbo Dining In; order limited edition MCM Brooks training apparel including First Timer products; or get the runcoach training service at a special price.
