Do you have a group of friends, classmates, service members or more that all run? The affiliated-based Teams competition returns to the Marine Corps Historic Half and the 49th Marine Corps Marathon (MCM). Gather your squad and get ready to take on the mission. Here is how it works:
Teams are made up of four runners (no more or no less), all participating in the live event.
Teams will comprise of the following:
- Gender
- All female
- All male
- Mixed (two females and two males)
and
- Age
- Open (team is comprised of any ages allowed to participate in the event)

REGISTRATION
- The team captain, who is also a member of the team, will register and create the team. The captain will receive a confirmation email with a link to the team management page. From there, the captain can invite and manage the four-person team.
- Each member of the team will pay the individual registration fee for the event.
- Members of the team can only compete on one team in one category.
- If there are any changes to the team makeup following the cutoff date, the team will be dissolved and members will become individual runners. Cutoff dates are as follows:
If your team members are all registering (or are already registered) through different registration paths, the Team Captain should contact mcmcustomerservice@usmc-mccs.org once all members are registered. MCMO will be able to place all members on the same team internally. An example would be a team made up of individuals who are registering through a charity, another using their deferment, another registering with Access Granted and the final member using general registration.
Scoring:
- To be scored as a team, all four members must successfully complete the event.
- The team’s score will consist of the aggregate time of all four athletes.
- The lowest aggregate time in each of the competition categories will be declared the winning team as the awards are one deep in each category.
- Participants of teams are also eligible for the individual awards.
- There will be winning teams from each breakdown (age and gender) in each category.
